How we discovered the EA897 problem
It's 2017. A client walks in with an Audi A6 3.0 TDI, oil warning light and fault code P0524. The official dealer told him: "new engine — €4 000." We refused to accept that.
Six hours of diagnostics later, we found the problem was not a hardware defect — but a wrong oil map in the ECU combined with low thresholds in the HPCA valve. A Volkswagen AG design issue, not the owner's fault.
Since then, every EA897 case in our workshop follows one rule: understand the system fully before recommending any repair.

With 12+ years in ECU tuning, he leads every EA897 calibration development and maintains direct communication with each client. He holds a Class 4 licence from "Bachelor of Science FH Automotive Electronics" and continuously updates his knowledge through international seminars and certification programmes.
Ivan is the technical backbone of the workshop — engineering precision, structured thinking and composure even in the most complex diagnostic situations. He specialises in the full VAG Group diagnostic cycle: from live-data interpretation and fault code analysis to DPF, EGR and AdBlue systems. He holds a Class 4 licence from "Bachelor of Science FH Automotive Electronics" and contributes to every new technical solution introduced in the workshop.
